Project Brief

During the summer months of 2011, Alexandra will explore the urban metropolis of Shanghai, China in order to study the intricacies of the modern Chinese professional woman and how the dense urban infrastructure of Shanghai facilitates her everyday needs. The project emphasizes a particular focus on urban housing and transportation in Shanghai, the current most populous city in China with well over 23 million people inhabiting more skyscrapers than any other city in the world. The Gordon Summer Fellowship, awarded to Alexandra Bojarski-Stauffer by the Newcomb-Tulane College allowed her to pursue this ambitious independent research project abroad. Alexandra will be graduating with a Master’s in Architecture from Tulane University in May of 2012.
